This 10 Days Serengeti & Masai Mara Migration Safari is a perfect wildebeest migration safari for you, combing a wildebeest safari in Kenya’s Masai Mara and an extended safari in Tanzania including a safari visit to Lake Manyara National Park, the Ngorongoro Crater and the Serengeti.
The Great Migration Safari is best experienced between July and October, and this safari will give you the best chances to see the large herds cross the Mara River between Serengeti and Masai Mara.

Day 1: Arusha
On arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you are met by a Mantis Africa Safaris Representative and be transferred to Arusha Villa.
Spend the day at leisure to relax and prepare for your safari. Stroll through the gardens with spectacular views of Mount Meru and Mount Kilimanjaro. The lodge has multiple terraces offering plenty of room for reading and dozing off while enjoying the Africa sun. if you need to cool down, there is a swimming pool.
Also, you can book optional day tours, such as a guided tour of Arusha Town, a coffee plantation, or a game drive in Arusha National Park.

Day 2: Karatu
After breakfast, meet your safari guide and depart of the beautiful Lake Manyara National Park – filled with spectacular scenery and wildlife encounters. Famous for its tree – climbing lions, the park’s underground water forest supports many animals especially primates such as olive baboons. Lake Manyara National Park is also a birder’s paradise with over 350 species of birds identified.
In the late afternoon, drive through Karatu heading to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Ngorongoro Crater
After breakfast, depart for a full day game drive in Ngorongoro Crater.
The Ngorongoro Crater is one of the world’s most breathtaking nature wonders and home to abundance of wildlife. This ancient caldera is nearly three million years old and shelters an extraordinary concentration of wildlife, making it a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
As you explore the crater floor, lookout for the endangered black rhinos, herds of majestic elephants wandering through the verdant forest among other animals such as wildebeests, gazelles, zebras, leopards and cheetahs.
Return to your lodge late afternoon, enjoy a delicious dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4: Northern Serengeti
After breakfast, transfer to Lake Manyara Airstrip for your flight to the north of Serengeti. On arrival at Kogatende, you are meet by the camp’s guide and transferred to Nasikia Mobile Camp.
The camp is located in the far northern areas of the Serengeti making it ideal for reaching different regions, such as Kogatende and Bologonja, and is not too far from Mara Rivers. Typically, the camp is ideal for witnessing the Great Migration, especially between mid-July and mid-September each year, to gain a view of the herds running the gauntlet of crocodiles as they cross the water.

Day 5-6: Northern Serengeti
Spend these two days exploring the Northern Serengeti, and should be luck, watch the Great Migration crossing the river.

Day 7: Masai Mara
After breakfast, transfer to Kogatende Airstrip for a flight to the Mara via Tarime and Migori.
On arrival at Mara Kiombo Airstrip, you will be met by our safari guide and transferred to Basecamp Mara. Hidden away under thatched roofs on a lush peninsula along the Talek River and bordering Masai Mara, the camp offers great views of the savannah, home to abundant wildlife.
Following recent refurbishments, each tent at Basecamp Masai Mara, each tent has been meticulously designed to provide an unparalleled blend of comfort and style. It features a plush bed, chic furnishing and modern suite bathroom. In addition, there is a private terrace with views towards the Talek river bed and the Masai Mara National Reserve.

Day 8-9: Masai Mara
You have two full days to explore the endless plains of Masai Mara with scheduled game drives.
The Masai Mara is famous for its unique concentration of wildlife, birds, rich vegetation and open savannah. From July to October, the massed herds of the Great Wildebeest Migration pass through the Mara, with over two million animals making their way north towards the Mara River Crossing in search for water and grazing.

Day 10: Departure
After breakfast, you are transferred back to the airstrip for a domestic flight to Wilson Airport. On arrival you are met and transferred by road to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your departure flight.
